The Olympic torch is one of the symbols of the Olympic Games, which has the same meaning as its logo and other paraphernalia. It symbolizes the unity of not only different countries and cities, but also different sports.
For the Olympic Games, it is planned to make 1,500 copies of the torches according to the sketch of the French designer Mathieu Lehanner. As the author of the layout himself says, he was inspired to create the design by water, peacefulness and equality. For these reasons, the steel torch has a streamlined, narrow and oblong shape. Each model of the torch will be painted in champagne color.
Compared to the previous Olympic Games, this time there will be much fewer products, to be precise, five times less. In addition to one and a half thousand torches for the 2024 Olympics, another 500 pieces for the Paralympics will be separately produced.
Traditionally, the opening ceremony of the games will be held in Ancient Olympia on April 16, 2024. From there, by May 8, the Olympic flame will arrive in Marseille. 400 French cities and ten thousand torchbearers will be involved in the relay race for its transfer.
Recall that the 2024 Summer Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The question of the conditions for the participation of Russian athletes in the Games is still open. The International Olympic Committee is making certain efforts to admit the Russians, and Hungary even calls on the IOC to give permission for Russian athletes to participate in the upcoming Olympics in Paris.
Today, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee calls the conditions for participation proposed to the Russians doubtful, but there is still time before the Games and the rhetoric may well change.
