Sailing participants started testing the route

It is reported that the test route will not exactly repeat the one prepared for the Olympic Games. Athletes will gather in the marina Roucas Blanc. It is known that 348 contestants will take part in the heats, and 330 participants will compete directly at the Games.

The program is divided into several categories. The event includes windsurfing and kiting for men and women, skiff for men and women, mixed crews and multihulls.

For the organizers, the test swims are a great opportunity to test the technological, sports and medical systems that will be used in next year's main event. The Olympic sailing competitions will start on July 28, 2024. The first set of medals will be awarded on August 1. In the upcoming competition, kitesurfing is a debutant. The best in this type of sailing will be determined on August 8.

Of course, each category has a format for speed: the faster the ship, the better the results in the standings. In the final competition, points are doubled. Athletes have a goal to score as few points as possible, thereby getting closer to victory.
