According to a social survey conducted in 2015, Lyon is the most attractive French city to live in, surpassing Toulouse, Marseille, and even Paris. The proximity of the Cote d'Azur and the Alps affects the softness of the climate – the temperature does not fall below zero here, regardless of the season.

Lyon is the gastronomic capital of France – there are many coffee shops and restaurants in the city that offer dishes for different tastes and budgets. Many travelers know Lyon from the Festival of Light, traditionally held in early December.

In the summer of 2024, Lyon will become the center of attraction for football fans. Football matches among men's and women's teams will be at Parc Olympique Lyonnais from July 25 to August 9, 2024.
